Blair School of Music presents the award-winning Blair Big Band in a special collaborative concert event, Friday, February 7, 2025, 8:00 p.m., in Ingram Hall. The program, “New Groove,” will feature all-star faculty members from across Blair’s areas of study, including a performance by Dean Melissa Rose.

Directed by Ryan Middagh, the Blair Big Band performs a diverse repertoire that includes classic big band standards, modern jazz compositions, and original works by its members. One of the premier collegiate jazz ensembles in the country, the Big Band has been honored with 13 DownBeat Student Music Awards and was a top-four finalist at the prestigious 2023 Jack Rudin Jazz Championship in New York.
